According to Wikipedia: "Let's Swing Again is the eleventh album release from British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. It is the follow up to his 6 million selling 2001 Swing When You're Winning album, a collection of classic Swing songs including songs from Frank Sinatra. It was recorded early 2007 and is rumoured to be released late 2007 and it's first single will be a duet with Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey."

The Rudebox Shots pick their winner…

The winners of the Rudebox Shorts competition have finally been selected by a Panel of esteemed judges.

After much video watching and head scratching, a jury of film critic Jonathan Ross, legendary Director Lord Puttnam, head of T4 and 4Music Jules Oldroyd, Robbie’s video commissioner Carrie Sutton, and Robbie, have selected not one, but two winners, who each win the top prize of £7,500. The winners have decided via a strict point-scoring system, so it was a fantastic surprise to end up with two joiny winners.
Adding the Jury prize to it's audience award prize is 12,50 Pounds from Nahuel Narena and Patricia Byrne, who you voted your favourite short last week. The other winning film, The 80's, is by directors Vincenzo Ricchiuto e Massimo Sbaracconi, whose film brilliantly recreates the feel of an 80's teenage bedroom as the centre of the universe. Congratulation to both winning teams.
As well as winning the top prize, the director will now be able to pitch an idea for Robbie's next video, a prize also offered to the second and third positions.

I vincitori della competizione sui cortometraggi di Rudebox sono stati finalmente selezionati dal nostro gruppo di stimati giudici.

Dopo aver visto e ascoltato vari video, il critico della giuria Jonathan Ross, il leggendario direttore di Lord Puttnam, il capo di T4 e 4Music Jules Oldroyd, la persona commissionata da Robbie per i video Carrie Sutton e lo stesso Robbie Williams, hanno selezionato non uno, ma ben due vincitori, ognuno dei quali si è aggiudicato il premio di $7.500.
I vincitori sono stati decisi tramite un sistema a punteggio, per cui è stata una fantastica sorpresa scoprire che i vincitori erano due.

NOI DALLA SUA PARTE

Visto tutto quello che è stato detto e tutto quello che continuerà ad essere detto sull'argomento, abbiamo pensato di scrivere due righe per chiarire bene la nostra posizione sulla decisione di Rob di curare la sua dipendenza dagli antidepressivi.
In meno di ventiquattro ore i tabloid inglesi, e non (eh si anche gli americani che si vantano di non curarsi di lui fanno scoop sulla sua salute) hanno sprecato fiumi di parole sulla sua condizione fisica e mentale e nel novantanove per cento dei casi parlandone a vanvera. Il celeberrimo The sun si è divertito a riportare le parole di una sua canzone dove parlava proprio di quelle pillole che lo hanno portato alla decisione di farsi curare, il Daily Mail si è chiesto se Robbie è finito e la BBC non si è lasciata scappare l'occasione di spiattellare a tutto il mondo questa sua "debolezza", se così si può chiamare, proprio il giorno del suo compleanno.
Quello che vorremo dire a tutti i fan che ci leggono e a tutti coloro che a Robbie ci tengono per davvero è: BASTA CON LE SPECULAZIONI. Non leggete quello che scrivono i tabloid, non date loro addito a continuare a scrivere queste cattiverie. Non è Robbie a voler far parlare di sè, sono gli altri a continuare a parlare di lui in un momento in cui tutto quello che vorrebbe è solo essere lasciato in pace.
In dieci anni di carriera ci ha regalato gioie e emozioni indimenticabili e noi di RWITALY non vogliamo sciuparle con il fango che in questi giorni cercheranno di buttargli addosso. Dimostriamogli noi, stavolta, quanto ci ha insegnato. Dimostriamogli di essergli accanto sempre anche quando tutti si limitano a trattarlo da pazzo depresso. Robbie non è questo. Robbie è un ragazzo di trenta trè anni appena compiuti con alle spalle un passato difficile che ha però sempre saputo sorreggere sulle sue spalle; è un uomo che ha saputo sempre prendersi le responsabilità dei suoi gesti e ha saputo rendere felice chi si trovava nel baratro; è una persona che ha saputo riconoscere di avere un problema e sta semplicemente e giustamente cercando di curarlo.
NOI ABBIAMO FIDUCIA IN LUI. Non serve nient'altro...non serve domandarsi se tutto quello che scrivono sui tabloid è vero, quella è spazzatura, spazzatura che non può nemmeno essere paragonata alla sincerità del suo sorriso. Quel sorriso tornerà a brillare molto presto e sarà lui per primo a rendercene partecipi, lui che LE ODIA quelle maledette pagine di giornale che in parte lo hanno condotto nella condizione di fragilità in cui è adesso.
Questo è tutto quello che ci sentirete dire a riguardo, non verranno postati né sul forum né tanto meno sulla home del sito articoli riguardanti la sua salute a meno che non provengano dal suo sito ufficiale e non perchè non ci interessa, ma perché noi siamo dalla sua parte e questo è quello che ci sembra più giusto quello che pensiamo lui vorrebbe da noi. I nostri pensieri e il nostro affetto gli arriveranno dovunque sia...aspettando serenamente che quel sorriso torni a splendere. E come ha già detto qualcuno...

After all the things that have been said and will be said on this matter, we've thought to write down a line to better clear our position on Rob's decision to cure his antidepressants dependency. In less than 24 hours English and not English tabloids (yeah, also the American ones that have never cared about him are getting scoops on his health) have waisted flows of words about his physical and mental conditions, and in the 99% of the cases they were talking through their hats. The renowned The Sun had fun in reporting the lyrics of one of his songs where he was just talking about those pills that took him to the decision of checking himself into rehab, the Daily Mail had wondered if Robbie is finished and the BBC didn't miss the chance to tell the whole world his "weakness" (if we can call it weakness) right in the day of his birthday.
What we would like to say to all the fans that are reading and to all the people who really care about Robbie is: STOP WITH SPECULATIONS! Don't read what the papers write, don't give them any chance to go on in writing these wickednesses. It's not Robbie who wants people to talk about him, it's people who keeps talking about him, when all he'd wish for is just to be left in peace.
In ten years of career he has always given us joys and unforgettable emotions, and we from RWITALY don't want to spoil them with the mud that people will try to sling at him in the following days.
We want to show him, this time, what he've taught us. Let's show him that we always stand by his side, also when all the other people just treats him like a mental deppressed. Robbie is not that!! Robbie is a33 years old guy, with a difficult past that he's always been able to face.;he's a man who has been responsible for his actions and that has made happy a lot of people who were in pain; he's a person that has understood he's got a problem and that he's trying to overcome it.
WE TRUST IN HIM. That's all we've to do, trust in him...there's no need to wonder if the things we read in the tabloids are true, they are just bull shit that can't be compared with the truly Robbie's smile. That smile will shine again very soon and he will be the first to let us know he's better. He's the first who hates those damned tabloids that in some way have took him in this situation. That's all you'll hear from us about it. We won't post any article in the board or in the homepage except for the official ones. Not because we don't care about it but because we're by his side and we think that this is what is fair for him and what he would want from us. Our thoughts and our love are with him and we're sure they will reach him where ever he is. From today we'll just wait peacefully to see his smile shining on his face again. And as somebody has said...

An insider says, "It was the most stellar array of media figures you could ever see but to get all those people in the room on a Friday night shows how willing they are to help." The 'Live Earth' show will be held on 7 July (07) at venues in England, America, South Africa, Japan and Brazil in a bid to raise environmental awareness. Gore says, "Television hypnotises billions but it is a one-way conversation filling minds with junk food. The only way to breathe meaning back into our words is through music. We need you." This is the stunning peninsula set to be a home to pop superstar Robbie Williams - after he snapped-up all three properties for a cool £5 million. The trio of white-washed houses are nestled in several acres of land at Chapel Point near Mevagissey (corr) in Cornwall. Offering stunning sea views the cluster of homes are thought to have been bought by Williams, 32, last week. Sources say the former Take That star is looking for a getaway pad following the flop of his latest album, Rudebox. Wo of the homes were laying empty while the third was owned by a wealthy London banker who snapped it up in the late 1980s.

On the back of the Umbro home strip — fixed up by EMI chiefs — is “Robbie 07”. A team source said: “We usually only do this for charity, but we made an exception.”

Sanity Magazine Rudebox Review

No-one can ever accuse Robbie of being predictable. Just when it looked as though the middle-of-the-road had him trapped forever, Robbie has said no to another album of arena sized anthems. Instead he has put together a killer collection of tunes designed more for the clubs than Kansas. It's his Confessions On A Dance Floor and you are going to love it!!
Christened Rudebox, this is a brilliant and brave step for someone in Robbie's superstar stratosphere to undertake. This album sees him collaborating with a bevy of topnotch producers and they have created something of a mini masterpiece. Thank God the whispers he had planned to record another Swing album proved false.
Rudebox is so much more fun.
Its leading single has already divided fans. Working wryly as a mininal electronic production-with a wink to 80's hiphop- Rudebox surprised people who were expecting Feel 06 or Angels (again). Indeed before it was released in the UK it was first broadcast on Pete Tong's highly influerntial show to gauge public opinion. The single reached as high as number 4 on the UK charts despite it being widely criticised. It was also a worldwide smash reaching the top position in Chile, Germany and Italy. It was the 2nd best selling single in Europe for a number of weeks and was the 5th best selling single in the world. Not bad huh!
Typically Robbie remains unfazed by the more unkind comments about his new material. In fact he admitted on MTV that Rudebox was his favourite "it has a very very special place in my heart. I think out of any RW song, I have listened to this the most"
He has conceded however he is a little thrown by how strongly some fans have reacted to his new direction. "Its confused me. Lots of people have said "We don't like it, we don't get it" but to me its strong. "Rudebox is more of a single than Tripping was.. I love it. Other standouts on the album are the fetching She's Madonna, the 80's and The 90's, there is even a track called We're The Pet Shop Boys , which the said boys themsleves produced (the title alone deserves to win next years mercury prize). The soft and warm melodies of Lovelight is the perfect worm to lure those fans who find themselves sitting back on the fence.
C'mon people, jump, he won't bite.

Review dell'album Rudebox dalla rivista Sanity

Nessuno può di certo accusare Robbie di essere prevedibile.
Proprio quando sembrava che fosse rimasto intrappolato nel pop più commerciale, Robbie ha saputo dire no ad un altro album di inni da stadio. Ha invece messo assieme una collezione omicida di canzoni molto più adatte ai club e alle discoteche. È il suo "Confessions On A Dance Floor" e lo amerete! Intitolato "Rudebox", questo è un passo geniale e oltremodo coraggioso da intraprendere per una superstar del calibro di Robbie. quest'album lo vede collaborare con un vasto gruppo di eccellenti produttori con cui ha realizzato qualcosa di paragonabile a un mini capolavoro. Ringraziamo dio che le voci secondo le quali stia già pianificando un'altro album swing sono già state smentite. Rudebox è molto meglio! Il singolo che da il titolo all'album ha già diviso i fans.
Lavorando ironicamente come una produzione elettronica minimale con un accenno all'hiphop anni 80 - Rudebox ha sorpreso le persone che si aspettavano Feel 2006 o Angels (di nuovo). Anzi, prima dell'uscita è stato trasmesso nello show molto seguito di Pete Tong per valutare l'opinione pubblica. Il singolo ha raggiunto al massimo la posizione numero 4 in Inghilterra, nonostante fosse stato ampiamente criticato. E' stato anche un successone mondiale, raggiungendo la vetta in Cile, Germania e Italia. E' stato il secondo singolo più venduto in Europa per diverse settimane e il quinto nel mondo. Non male eh!?
Tipico di Robbie rimanere impassibile davanti ai commenti non di certo positivi riguardo il suo nuovo album . Ha infatti rivelato a MTV che Rudebox è il suo album preferito "Ha un posto molto molto speciale nel mio cuore. Al di là di tutte le altre mie canzoni è il lavoro che ascolto di più."
Ha ammesso comunque che è rimasto abbastanza colpito dalla reazione molto forte dei fan alla sua nuova direzione musicale. "Mi ha confuso. Molte persone hanno detto "A noi non ci piace, non lo compriamo " ma per me è stato un duro colpo. " Rudebox è molto più di un singolo come poteva essere Tripping . . . a me piace. Tra le altre cose nell'album ci sono pezzi come She's Madonna, The 80s e The 90s ci sono anche track come We're The Pet Shop Boys , che è stata prodotta dai Pet Shop Boys in persona (il titolo stesso merita di vincere il premio mercury del prossimo anno). La melodia soft e avvolgente di Lovelight è l'esca perfetta per attirare quei fans che non vogliono prendere posizione."
Andiamo gente, provatelo, non morde mica!

ROBBIE WILLIAMS will launch his swing album in August with a spectacular showcase gig in Las Vegas.
The singer had vowed to take a year off after his punishing tour schedule in 2005.
But the disastrous performance of his experimental Rudebox album last year has forced him to make an early comeback to appease frustrated label bosses.
It’s not a bad idea for the star to make the most of the huge success of Swing When You’re Winning.
And Robbie in Vegas will be a ticket in massive demand.

New swing album for Robbie this summer

Robbie Williams is to release a new swing album by the end of the summer.
Executives at the singer's record label EMI are worried after his recent "Rudebox" album failed to live up to expectations and divided fans. They hope that the new album will turn around Robbie's fortunes and help him to win back his reputation.
A source told the Daily Star: ""Rudebox" has failed to match the sales of any of Robbie's previous albums and a lot of people are very worried. There's a swing album in the can and the top brass want it in the shops as soon as possible.
"Staff at the label have a lot of affection for "Rudebox". But the public hasn't. Everyone's confident that another collection of swing songs will re-connect him to his fanbase."

In uscita alla fine dell'estate il nuovo album swing

Le ultime indiscrezioni danno il nuovo album swing di Robbie Williams in uscita per la fine dell'estate. La EMI record, etichetta discografica del cantante, è preoccupata soprattutto per le scarse vendite di "Rudebox" e per come i fans si sono divisi proprio su quest’ultimo album.
Sperano che questo nuovo disco faccia riacquistare a Robbie un pò di quella reputazione de grande artista che forse qualcuno aveva messo in dubbio ultimamente.
Una fonte ha riferito al “Daily Star”: "Purtroppo per quanto riguarda le vendite, "Rudebox" non è riuscito ad eguagliare nessuno dei precedenti album di Robbie ed è per questo che c’è chi vorrebbe che il nuovo album sia nei negozi il più presto possibile!” .
La EMI è molto affezionata a "Rudebox" ma non sembra lo stesso per una parte dei suoi fans.
Speriamo che con il nuovo album Robbie riesca ad accattivarsi di nuovo la simpatia di tutte quelle persone che si sono allontanate da lui in questi ultimi tempi.
