Robbie to become a Trekkie?

Robbie Williams is apparently in discussions to make his film debut as Captain James T Kirk in Star Trek XI.
The Stoke-born crooner has already voiced the part of Dougal in The Magic Roundabout remake in 2005 and has turned down a number of starring roles.
Now the 33-year-old is talking to director JJ Abrams as performing the role which was made famous by William Shatner in the sci-fi series, reports the Daily Star.
Abrams, who co-created hit series Lost, said: "I think he would be a good Captain Kirk. The Kirk in my movie is quite young, it's like the early years.
"But I can't comment on who we are casting just yet. You'll have to wait and see."
Heroes actor Zachary Quinto will play the role of the young Spock, while Leonard Nimoy will also be featuring in the movie.
The 30-year-old said: "It is pretty incredible to be part of something so iconic."
Abrams is also hoping to find a way to bring William Shatner into the film. "We are desperately trying to find a way to put him in this movie," he explained.

Apparentemente Robbie Williams sta discutendo per fare il suo debutto nel cinema nel ruolo del Capitano James T Kirk in Star Trek XI.
Il crooner di Stoke ha già dato la sua voce nella parte di Dougal nel remake di "The Magic Roundabout" nel 2005 e ha rifiutato diversi ruoli da protagonista.
Adesso il 33enne sta parlando con il regista JJ Abrams per recitare il ruolo che fu reso famoso da William Shatner nella serie di fantascienza, secondo il Daily Star.
Abrams, co-creatore della famosa serie Lost, ha detto: "Penso che sarebbe un ottimo Capitan Kirk. Kirk nel mio film è abbastanza giovane, è come i primi anni.
"Ma non posso commentare su chi stiamo provinando ancora. Dovrete aspettare e vedrete."
L'attore di Heroes Zachary Quinto interpreterà il ruolo del giovane Spock, e anche Leonard Nimoy apparirà nel film.
Il 30enne ha dichiarato: "E' incredibile far parte di qualcosa che è un'icona."
Abrams sta anche sperando di trovare un modo per portare anche William Shatner nel film. "Stiamo disperatamente cercando un modo per metterlo in questo film," ha spiegato.

Nat: I nearly dated Robbie

SINGER NATASHA BEDINGFIELD has revealed she almost went on a date with ROBBIE WILLIAMS — but he blew his chance.
Nat told me the pair met in Los Angeles and Robbie took her number.
But the Rudebox singer didn’t call and now it’s too late — as she has found herself a nice man.
Nat said: “Rob once said he would call me.
“I bumped into him in an LA record shop and he asked me what hotel I was staying in. He said he’d call, but never did.”
Natasha is now dating US businessman Matt Robinson. But she would still like to make sweet music with Rob.
She added: “I still think Robbie is attractive. I’d love to duet with him.”
Robbie should have taken tips from JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE if he wanted to win Natasha’s heart.
She toured with the snake-hipped singer last month and revealed: “My dressing room was next to Justin’s so we hung out before shows.
“He has a great sense of humour. He’s very warm.
“After the first show he left me champagne and a note saying, ‘Welcome. We love to have you here.’
“I’ve never done that for a support act so I felt bad. I’m going to do it in the future.

Robbie avrebbe dovuto chiedere suggerimento a JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE per fare breccia nel cuore di Natasha.
Natasha infatti era in tour con il cantante il mese scorso e ha rivelato: "Il mio camerino era proprio accanto a quello di Justin così ci ritrovavamo prima degli show. Ha un grandissimo senso dell'umorismo ed è una persona molto affettuosa.
Prima del primo concerto mi ha fatto trovare una bottiglia di champagne con un bigliettino che diceva"Benvenuta. siamo felici che tua sia qui." Non ho mai fatto niente di tutto questo per i miei supporter così mi sono sentita in colpa. Ma in futuro lo farò"

Robbie Williams to Join Mark Ronson in NYC?

In pop music, it's all about who you know, and Mark Ronson knows Robbie Williams. Ronson, the hot producer behind albums by Spin cover girl Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, will celebrate the release of his solo album, Version, this Wednesday at NYC's Highline Ballroom, and he told SPIN.com that "a certain giant, male, mega-pop star from England" might be crossing the pond to perform with him. Williams covers the Charlatans' "The Only One I Know" on Version, which also includes guest spots from Winehouse, Allen, and Dirt McGirt (aka Ol' Dirty Bastard). Speaking backstage at yesterday's Pool Party in Brooklyn's McCarren Park, Ronson revealed that Version guests Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet, Daniel Merriweather, Kenna, and Santo Gold will also be joining him for the New York date.

Charities Aid Foundation UK

Robbie Williams has donated another £1.5m to Give it Sum, a charity which helps vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in his home town.
Set up by Robbie Williams and Comic Relief in June 2000, Give it Sum helps people with problems in their lives in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire.
While currently living in LA, Robbie has never wholly forgotten his roots and this latest donation means he has donated £3m to his hometown charity in total. He managed to raise funds for the charity by selling career memorabilia, such as platinum discs and hand-written lyrics. The lyrics he penned for his number one hit, Angels, brought in £27,000 alone.
The 33-year-old pop star said: "I'm glad the little help I give can raise the profile of things like this. I want to be more active in and around Stoke-on-Trent - the place I love and where I'll eventually return to."
Community groups who have an income of less than £150,000 a year can apply for grants to help fund projects for up to two years.
In the past, grants have helped to fund self-help groups working to improve their local communities, including those providing support to young people with drug and alcohol problems, the homeless and people from ethnic minorities.

Fondata da Robbie Williams e Comic Relief nel giugno 2000, Give it Sum aiuta persone con problemi a Stoke-on-Trent nello Staffordshire.
Nonostante attualmente viva ad LA, Robbie non ha mai dimenticato le sue radici e con questa ultima donazione significa che ha dato alla sua città un totale di 3 milioni di sterline. E' riuscito a raccogliere fondi per opere di beneficenza vendendo memorabilia della sua carriera, come dischi di platino e testi scritti a mano. Solo il testo della sua famosissima hit Angels ha portato 27.000 sterline.
La pop star 33enne ha detto: "Sono felice che il piccolo aiuto che do possa risaltare in cose come queste. Voglio essere più attivo per Stoke-on-Trent - il posto che amo e dove alla fine tornerò".
Gruppi di comunità il cui incasso è meno di 150.000 sterline all'anno possono richiedere sovvenzioni per finanziare alcuni progetti per due anni.
In passato le sovvenzioni sono servite per finanziare gruppi di auto-aiuto che lavorano per migliorare le comunità locali, incluse quelle che danno supporto a giovani con problemi di droga e alcohol, i senzatetto e le persone appartenenti a minoranze etniche.
